Perhaps a problem?

I recently bough two new ball joints for my, august ’70, 240Z part number 40160-A8625.

Problem is however, the thread has changed! The old one has M14 x 1.5 and the new has M14 x 125!!

Does this ring a bell to anybody? It’s very hard to find that kind of nut, specially a crown? nut.

It would be a great help to get the Nissan part number.

Not at the Nissan dealer!!!!

Everything there has an number.

I asked Courtesy for a price because we needed 4 ball joints and they where cheaper as in Holland. But shipping to Holland came to $60. So therefore I bought it over here.

With out nut!!!

Ah yes, you're quite right on this.

However as all my zeds are 73+ it's never affected me.

So whats the story pre73 owners, do you need to have the hole re- reamed or can you apply a bit of muscle and tighten them down without the reaming....

Hold on!

The chancing point lies at June 1970!!!!

According the info of courtesy Nissan & Nissan motor sport.

See page http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=40160-A8625&Category_Code=s30_nismo_z-steering-knuckles

Even Motorsport Auto says early 240Z owners must call before ordering.

My car is august ’70 Z and I’m about to change the ball joint tomorrow I’ll make pictures of the two.

A got my NUTS!!!!! Oke not the castle nuts but it’s alright.

Here’s a picture of the two ball joints

The old and the new one.

Fact is, my car is august 1970 Z. I bought new ball joints with the parts number 40160-A8625. These are the same as the old ones except for the thread which I mentioned earlier!

I did not have any problem with changing

Nissan in Europe price each is 120 euro ex taxes = $140. Courtesy could deliver them for $85 each. But the shipping came at $60, so not worthwhile. Still a lot of money

Consider you still have to pay import tax, normal tax? Above your cheap USA price!
