SoCalJim Posted November 4, 2019 Share #26 Posted November 4, 2019 The stock clutch kit through Amazon looks like a good deal!
madkaw Posted November 4, 2019 Share #27 Posted November 4, 2019 With 3.90 gears I drive around town in third gear with my TEP lightened flywheel . That was with a 2.4 with a 490 cam. If your engine is strong with those gears you will be fine.

chaseincats Posted November 6, 2019 Share #30 Posted November 6, 2019 (edited) How loud are these lightened flywheels? I've heard they make a noise similar to a diesel truck? Are there any lighter double mass flywheels (stock style) that are lighter which would eliminate the chatter (I can't find any)? Expand This is an extreme example of the single mass (light) flywheel noise - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vUdmshAsYM&t=20s I've heard shaving down the OE flywheel can weaken it to the point it may shatter if done improperly - is this true?

LeonV Posted November 7, 2019 Share #34 Posted November 7, 2019 Stock flywheels are single mass, dual mass flywheels were not around when these cars were built. A light one won't be any more noisy than OEM.
