Hey,

I bought this as part of a lot of 240Z parts but not sure if or what year(s) Z it is correct for. The number 4030 is the only marking I can see. Thanks for any help.

The cylinder-shaped tip suggests it is for a 260Z or 280Z, but will also fit a 240Z.  Good find!  Check it out to see if it runs up and down smoothly.

Thanks! Yes, once I found the post a few minutes ago that the case was ground and one wire was up and the other wire was down. I had been putting 12V across the two wires in both directions with nothing but a few sparks. Luckily, it doesn't seem to have hurt it and I also see the order of mounting hardware on here which is very helpful.

Somewhere on or in it should be the brandname HARADA..?  i'm not shure yours is one..  only thing missing is the drain tube under it but that can be replaced by a peace of tubing.. (there is a hole in the inner fender in your car to put that tube through to let rainwater out.)

I don't see Harada on it anywhere like there is on my 240. I have the drain tube, mounting bracket, and most (I believe) of the mounting hardware ... they were just off in the pictures.

Thank you,

Thomas

I would take it apart and put new grease in it. maybe you discover a brandname somewhere in it.. check the elec. motor and the antenna sliding contact, there you can see how many times it has been used. (i've seen contacts that where gone, just by going up and down.. to many times.. haha..)
