I will for a bit my main goal is to get it running. I just going to get the internals for now that can handle the boost later on. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/63044-what-engine-do-i-have/?&page=3#findComment-586354 Share on other sites

A nice torquey motor in an S30 chassis is a lot of fun. These chassis are really only suitable for so much power with out a lot of work and extra metal Oh yes absolutely I agree. Here in a few years I'm going to be opening a performance shop with a dyno so I'll be doing all my own tuning and what not to include metal working. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/63044-what-engine-do-i-have/?&page=3#findComment-586355 Share on other sites
October 26, 20195 yr comment_586356 If you build the engine for boost now, it will be a dog normally aspirated. You will need to keep your compression low to accept boost later. A 10:1 compression NA motor with a lighter flywheel can bring just as many grins Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/63044-what-engine-do-i-have/?&page=3#findComment-586356 Share on other sites

(don't be dismayed, a Z doesn't need much to make it fun to drive...) October 29, 20195 yr comment_586567 That's Rear Wheel Horse Power. That's very different than the advertised horsepower for new cars and such. Those are all taken at the flywheel and are significantly higher numbers Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/63044-what-engine-do-i-have/?&page=3#findComment-586567 Share on other sites

Yes absolutely I'm sure, but it's also going to be a face of a tune shop. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/63044-what-engine-do-i-have/?&page=3#findComment-586579 Share on other sites
October 29, 20195 yr comment_586580 So you want to swap in an RB 25/26 then. Stop now if you want to keep your L28. Max out put with a turbo won’t hit 500... October 29, 20195 yr comment_586589 And you'll need to strengthen the frame considerably! 500 RWHP will twist a stock body to pieces. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/63044-what-engine-do-i-have/?&page=3#findComment-586589 Share on other sites
