I was researching a number of articles in the Tech Article Sections and noticed that many of them that had embedded links were dead links. Some were pictures, some were links to other articles.  Is there some way to get to this information or are they just obsolete?

I don't think there's such a thing as a, 're-activate dead links' button that can be pushed.  More likely, you'll need to contact the original link contributor and ask them if the materials you're looking for still exist.

They may not.  As one example, the photo links created by one major contributor on this site were lost when his cloud-storage provider adopted a fee-for-access business model. 

Unfortunately, it's also sometimes the case that the original link contributor has moved on.

FYI - the links may be dead, but the information is still here, but you'll have an easier time finding it using this work-around

The 'old' site prior to the software update in 2015?16? is located at http://legacy.classiczcars.com/forums/content.php

Here is an example of a broken link https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/electrical-s30/34192-280zx-distributor-advance-curve-reference.html

 

Now, with some 'doctoring' using notepad, you can 'splice the two links together' like this >> http://legacy.classiczcars.com/forums/electrical-s30/34192-280zx-distributor-advance-curve-reference.html

Here is showing what is deleted (shown in bold red) on each link and delete any remaining spaces.:

http://legacy.classiczcars.com/forums/content.php    https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/electrical-s30/34192-280zx-distributor-advance-curve-reference.html

I am unsure of the work-around for pictures. Once you find the old thread, you can search by title/date/author to find it here if the old site doesn't show the updates to the thread, if any.

Ah, it's likely that I have to go into each article and update the URL for the linked content.  It's all still here, the links just changed since we moved over to the current software platform years ago.  This is a good reason why I kept the old site alive.  It may take a few solid weeks of work to get everything updated and I've been doing it as I have spare time.  ?

FYI, the link you want to use for the current site is:  

• https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/31615-280zx-distributor-advance-curve-reference/
• Basically add https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/ to the front of the title.
• And it looks like there's a new ID, so, that will have to be updated too.

I have better luck simply searching for the title "280zx distributor advance curve reference" and I can find it easily.
