May 25, 200321 yr Author comment_38744 Which wire goes to which terminal. And what do I do with the extra wire coming from the battery that is not hooked up to the solenoid. Is that bellhousing bolt on the left a good place to put it? May 25, 200321 yr comment_38747 Hook the negitive cable to the top bolt the holds the starter to the bellhousing. hook the positive cable up to the positive terminal on the starter solinoid.- Jeff Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/6317-a-little-confused-on-batter-hook-up/#findComment-38747 Share on other sites

May 25, 200321 yr Author comment_38756 Thanks Jeff! I got it all hooked up and it cranks over just fine. I can't wait to start it. I have to torque the drife shaft flange bolts and then put in some transmission fluid. Once again, I appreciate your help very much.Isaac Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/6317-a-little-confused-on-batter-hook-up/#findComment-38756 Share on other sites

May 25, 200321 yr comment_38762 You just pour it down the dipstick hole (You'll need a funnel) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/6317-a-little-confused-on-batter-hook-up/#findComment-38762 Share on other sites

Therefor all I need to know is if yours is manual or automatic. If you have a manual then you will fill the trans via squeeze bottle. The fill hole is the full level, fill to the hole. If your trans is auto fill it through the fill level dipstick tube.- Jeff Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/6317-a-little-confused-on-batter-hook-up/#findComment-38809 Share on other sites
May 26, 200321 yr Author comment_38828 The transmission is a manual 4 speed. Where is the fill level hole located?? Is it on the side? There is a few different plugs there. May 27, 200321 yr comment_38882 It's on the passenger side about 1/2 way op the side. It will be a pipe plug with a square socket hole - your ratchet will fit in it to loosen it.- Jeff Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/6317-a-little-confused-on-batter-hook-up/#findComment-38882 Share on other sites
May 27, 200321 yr Author comment_38906 Thanks agian! I found it, I found it. Tomorrow I will borrow some torque wrenches from school and finish torqueing everything down and try to tune my carbs to match my new cam. Or maybe I'll just take it to get tuned somewhere that has a dyno. Any who thanks a bunchisaac Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/6317-a-little-confused-on-batter-hook-up/#findComment-38906 Share on other sites
