Tirnipgreen Posted November 21, 2019 Share #1 Posted November 21, 2019 I guess I should have marked my headlight buckets (the metal "boob" that is installed in the fenderwell and has the alignment ring that actually holds the headlight bulb) before I had them powdercoated. How do I determine which one is the right and which one is the left...? Thanks...Ryals (I did not take pics at my garage today and it is 25 miles from my house, so if there is anyone with pictures, I would appreciate it...!) Terrapin Z Posted November 21, 2019 Share #2 Posted November 21, 2019 Mine have a stamp near the top R or L and this set has an ink stamp which would probably not be there after powder coating. With the two indents in the outer circle the one adjuster is at 12 o'clock. From this rear view the left will have the other adjuster on the left at 9 o'clock, the right will be at 3 o'clock. The one in the pic is the left. (drivers side) I hope that helps

Tirnipgreen Posted November 22, 2019 Author Share #5 Posted November 22, 2019 T...Could you take a pic of that same bucket from the front...? (do you call these "buckets...? I do...) Thanks...Ryals
Terrapin Z Posted November 22, 2019 Share #6 Posted November 22, 2019 I call these buckets too. I call the outer part a "scoop" but there are many other names for either of these parts. Same part from the front. Same orientation - top of pic is up.

wheee! Posted November 22, 2019 Share #8 Posted November 22, 2019 Off topic but relevant... Does anyone have a source for the adjustment screws and nylon backs?

Does anyone have a source for the adjustment screws and nylon backs? here you go, I got some last week and they fit perfectly. https://zcardepot.com/products/headlight-adjuster-screw-240z-260z-280z?_pos=1&_sid=e6342a0d3&_ss=r
wheee! Posted November 22, 2019 Share #10 Posted November 22, 2019 Maybe there is a Dorman number for these out there somewhere. $5 US a piece plus $25 US Shipping makes it a little ridiculous to buy from Z Car Depot. That's like $60 Cdn by the time it arrives.
SpeedRoo Posted November 22, 2019 Share #11 Posted November 22, 2019 I doubt Zcardepot makes much on them, combine it in an order with some other bits. Always good to support the Z specialists...one day they may be gone and there will be no where to get parts. You can buy these cheaply from Thailand but the quality is questionable. wheee! Posted November 22, 2019 Share #12 Posted November 22, 2019 Not complaining about the companies that support us. This is a reasonable price in the states. I have already placed my major orders from the states so small ones like this are usually better sourced locally.
