Posted December 10, 20195 yr comment_589046 guys, i have been rooting around the forum but unable to find an answer to my specific question. I currently have a 71 240 that had the trunk deck cut out and replaced with a fuel cell. i am putting it back to original. My question is, does anybody know what years and models are the same? also, if you have one for sale, id be interested. i live in CT. see pics of what im working with. December 10, 20195 yr comment_589047 What models are the same with respect to what parts? Different parts have different answers. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/63264-spare-tire-well/#findComment-589047 Share on other sites

December 10, 20195 yr comment_589051 I think the 280Z went with a space-saver spare so that's not going to be a match.. I think any 240Z and likely a 260Z will have the correct rear section for you. Check your area salvage yards for a car you can cut out. Also - not to drive you away from this group but you also have the Connecticut Z Car Club to draw on for possible assistance in locating what you need: http://www.ctzcc.com/ Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/63264-spare-tire-well/#findComment-589051 Share on other sites

December 11, 20195 yr comment_589073 The late 260 and earlier 280 had the same spare tire well but I am certain the position of the tire well is different than yours due to the change in design of the fuel tank. Not sure if you are wanting to get that picky about it. December 11, 20195 yr comment_589091 I have access to a 1971 (late 1970) and a 1972 at a shop near me. I have a 1973, my early 1974, and my son's 1976 at my house. I the next day or two I'll try to examine them for differences and get some measurements. December 11, 20195 yr comment_589112 Back half of an early 260 on eBay for $850 You would have to freight it to CT. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1974-Datsun-260Z-Body-Tub-Nice-Rustfree-Quarters-Rockers-Firewall-Rear-Panel-T2/333434972895?hash=item4da245eadf:g:QLgAAOSw7spd8V7i Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/63264-spare-tire-well/#findComment-589112 Share on other sites
December 12, 20195 yr comment_589124 That's a good price but the red colored stuff on the floor is probably rust. Just saying... Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/63264-spare-tire-well/#findComment-589124 Share on other sites
