Hi guys,

Do you recognise the Datsun 240Z shown in the pictures I attached? Supposedly it has LS3 + T-56 manual under the hood etc. nice things..

If yes, I would appreciate if you answered.. It is supposedly for sale now, but I just want to be sure whether it is a scam or a legitimative ad and deal...

I just don't want be screwed.. That's why I am asking this..

Thanks for your help!

To my understanding it was auctioned in Nov 2018 (based on browse results I found in internet).

This same thing was noted by a friend who sold his Porsche 912 on BaT within the last year.  After a couple months, it started showing up on several other "Cars for Sale" sites for much less than what he sold it for to a buyer from England.  Many of the pictures in the ads were those that he had posted on BaT.

He checked with the buyer who told him that he still had the car and it was NOT for sale.  Scams abound.  This Z may not be a scam, but due diligence is wise before buying.

If the ad says something about being in the military and unable to meet you in person but they will ship the car to you, it's probably a scam.  I almost fell for one way back in 2008 before I bought my car.  The ad sounded reasonable but there was no way to verify.

Forgot to say, again, post the ad link if you really want some help.

@Jan K  Join BaT and message the buyer.  He might tell you what's going on.  Might be that he worked a deal to lower the price after he found problems.

Now that's an excellent excellent idea! I did that now, but BaT doesn't let me send a private mail to the winning bidder.. I tried to post a comment (question) in the thread there though.. Let's see if it is accepted by the BaT.
