The post number feature doesn't seem to be an option anymore.  I think this is due to the dynamic nature of the software.  This means that threads can change and using post numbers can likely lead to an incorrect reference in the future.  Instead, consider using the "share this post" option on the right side.  It will give you a URL that you can copy into your reference post.

Look for this symbol, there is one for every post.  Click on it and copy the URL given.

Thanks Mike.   That's two things are not intuitive at all.  Who is going to know what the tripod and the arrow are for?   Maybe you could change the tripod to "Share" ("Report" is right next to it, it must be possible), and the arrow to "Go to post"?

It's a very commonly used icon for sharing, I think most major sites and apps use it.

Thanks.  Good to know.  I'm not a target market for apps and stuff though.  Pretty computer savvy but I don't keep up with all the latest "advancements".  Words have worked fine for millennia, I don't see the need to go to symbology.  No offense.

Let's do a poll.  How many people knew the tripod meant "share", and noticed it up there in the corner, and also knew that the arrow meant "go to post" in the shared link.  I am ready to get burned!  Vote away.

I'm the guy in the meeting that says "and how is this better than what we have now?".

My Android phone isn't that smart.  And I just realized that I have used the tripod to send pictures.  But it's pointed the other way!  Mike, your tripod is backward...

The posts have no numbers.  Hard to direct someone to a specific post.

Try clicking on the time stamp of the post you are viewing that you wish to direct someone to.

The address bar will indicate a change (viewable on a PC, not sure if it is the same on mobile)

Even works on old posts - again, click on the time stamp of the post
