Reptoid Overlords Posted April 24, 2020 Share #889 Posted April 24, 2020 (edited) I read something about a Smithfield ham processing plant somewhere in one of the Great plains states having the same situation. They ran the plant knowing people were sick, then abruptly shut it down when it got out of control. https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/23/us/cdc-report-smithfield-plant-south-dakota/index.html Edited April 24, 2020 by Reptoid Overlords
Pilgrim Posted April 24, 2020 Share #890 Posted April 24, 2020 (edited) I believe that pork production is currently about 25% below normal levels, and some midwest hog farmers are slaughtering stock because they can't sell them and can't afford to keep them. Meat packing plants in general are low wage jobs with a heavy proportion of foreign-born and ESL workers. They tend to be elbow-to-elbow workplaces that wait for major problems before taking action about anything. I've gone through both beef and chicken processing plants and have seen the work. siteunseen Posted April 24, 2020 Share #894 Posted April 24, 2020 (edited) I've started huffing Lysol instead of metallic gold spray paint. Mow the yard in direct sunshine and huff some Lysol. Life is good! Edited April 24, 2020 by siteunseen

siteunseen Posted April 24, 2020 Share #896 Posted April 24, 2020 I've always said gin taste like Pine Sol but I've never had pine sol and tonic? Maybe my mind thinks gin taste like the smell of pine sol? Like sauerkraut taste like the smell of farts. I could go on but I won't.
Mark Maras Posted April 25, 2020 Share #897 Posted April 25, 2020 Pine Sol and Quinine is an appropriate name for a Covid-19 cooler.

Zed Head Posted April 25, 2020 Author Share #900 Posted April 25, 2020 Posted way back about about Brett Crozier and the USS Theodore Roosevelt as an unintended casualty of the COVID-19 fiasco. Here's recent news, and an article I had missed. I think that Esper might be cast from the same mold as Modly, or worse, so who knows what the final decision will be, but at least there is still some structure to the world. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2020/04/24/navy-recommends-reinstatement-fired-carrier-captain-brett-crozier/3023380001/ https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2020/04/07/navy-fired-defamed-my-friend-over-coronavirus-letter-column/2960627001/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Esper
