"Media" could use more definition.  You can't mean all of it, right?  How do you keep up with what's going on?  Even the Weather Channel is "media".

Generally, people should just remember that most of what we consider media these days exists for the purpose of making money.  Not controlling the world, just controlling and manipulating people's impulses to spend money.  Just keep spinning people up, over and over.  Make 'em angry, ask for their money.

People should keep in mind that the vaccines are not 100% effective.  They just reduce the chance of getting infected, and reduce the chance of suffering severe effects if you do get infected.

I am now seeing people in the supermarket acting like they are bulletproof and the risk is completely gone.  I still mask up in the supermarket.  Just calculating the odds, roughly, and why take a chance for a few minutes of mask-wearing inside.  When the case numbers are way down I'll leave the mask at home.

I share your common thought on the media, “The true enemy to all of us”.  I loathe the media and its’ agenda

That's why I posted that media bias chart earlier. There needs to be news. But get your news from the top tier news organizations. Not facebook or some guy posting memes on the internet.

Guys, I'm removing myself from this thread.  Let me tell you why...

Since I am the administrator of the site, I feel that it's my responsibility to stay out of sharing my personal views on subjects like this.  Not because I think I am wrong, but, it's because I came to the conclusion that I really have no idea what is correct.  I stated before that I don't trust most information I read on the Internet... so, why would I be here sharing my views about a subject that I know nothing about.  It makes sense to know that all the opinions shared within here are not the responsibility or views of the club as a whole.  If I'm in here sharing my views, it can be construed as such for the club and I don't feel it's good for me to put the club into that position.

I do support questioning everything though...  make any health decisions based on supporting yourself and your loved ones.  Take care of each other.

The media are just parrots with agendas. Investigative reporting is long gone.  Journalists are mostly poorly educated these days and filled with poisonous ideas.

They also have time machines that cherry pick the good from now and apply it to the past with no understanding.  News and journalism is $^!#.

But since none of us can be an expert on everything, we all need other people to be our experts for us.

And if we want to stay informed, we need news because we can't be everywhere at the same time looking with our own two eyes. The problem is in the choice of experts and the choice of news.*

Me? I'm conservative. I believe that the cream eventually rises to the top. And of course it takes a little longer, but by the time it gets there, it's been vetted and investigated because the stakes are higher for the top.

That's why I recommended the old school names who have a long standing reputation and have enough money to make them worth going after in court if they report false stuff. In other words... They have skin in the game. And because of that, the stuff they report has been vetted pretty thoroughly. If they screw up big, their reputation is at stake and their pockets are deep enough to make them worth going after.

If a bunch of the old school big name news organizations say that "so-and'so did such and such" then I give it some credence. Until then, not so much.

The smaller newer on-line organizations with no money? They pretty much say whatever they want and they're making money off the sensationalism. Sensationalism sells. It sells clicks, and it sells opinions. But it hasn't been vetted. And they can pass it all off as "opinion" anyway, so there's no accountability.

Cream rises to the top. There's a reason.

*If your expert is some guy on the internet posting stuff on social media, then I think it's time for an expert upgrade.

If a quick google search of your expert turns up hits of them being banned from posting because of mis-information, then I think it's time for an expert upgrade.

If your medical expert has Ted Nugent as a spokesman at traveling shows, it's time for an upgrade.

If your choice for news is a "left-wing media outlet built around a Facebook Group and corresponding website. Established in 2012, it publishes false information, hyperpartisan content, and clickbait" it's time for a news upgrade.

If your news is closely affiliated with the Falun Gong religious movement and "contains a mix of straight news, religious belief, conspiracy-peddling, Sinophobia, science denialism, legitimate grievance, and political expediency", then it's upgrade time.

I always enjoy Terrible Ted and the Ten Fingers of Doom, Wango Tango, Snakeskin Cowboys, Great White Buffalo, Journey To The Center Of The Mind.

But when I began to see him pimping haddcore Republicant politics, I nearly burned that part of my album collection.

Then I decided I don't have to like the Nugent of today, and I can still enjoy the Nugent of yesterday.

Haha! I think that Stranglehold is one of the best pieces of music ever created. But that doesn't qualify him to be a spokesman for a medical (sounding) organization to "take the truth directly to the people". In fact, for me, it does the opposite. It makes me question everything:

America’s Frontline Doctors takes the truth directly to the people, with a cross-country road tour headlined by AFLDS.org founder Dr. Gold delivering “The Religion of Public Health”, a profound diagnosis of 2020’s viral propaganda, and also featuring special guests Ted Nugent and additional AFLDS physicians and attorneys at select venues.

If I want the truth, it doesn't come from organizations like that. It comes from here:
