COVID-19

Here in WA, I'm starting to notice that stores are taking down their "mask required" signs and people are allowed inside without a mask.  It looks like employees are still wearing masks but this is a good sign things are starting to return to normal.

I’m seeing some stores where some employees are still wearing masks, but others are not.

At The Big Shed we were told if we are fully vaccinated we could lose the masks, but if not vaccinated then a mask is still the order of the day.

Is this verified or on an honor system?

The company has a website set up on their intranet for employees to self certify, and yes, it is on an honor system. No one is asking for proof, or asking to see the vaccination card given when you get the shot.

Here in Fort Collins CO most businesses have dropped mask requirements.  However, this county has one of the highest vaccination rates in the state. Last week I was in lovely Asheville, NC (what a gorgeous area, next to the Great Smoky Mt. National Park) and I would guess that about one-third of the businesses, especially the smaller businesses, required masks to enter.  I do note that NC has about a statewide 42% vaccination rate and CO is about 52%, although my county is higher.

So my guess is that many business owners, especially small businesses, are keeping an eye on vaccination rates and making decisions about masks based on behavior in their local area.
