April 8, 20204 yr comment_596626 I got a prototype on my hands super easy install I would say maybe 15 minutes max and then some time to adjust your timing. Here are some pictures. Overall very impressed heavy duty product and I recommend it! I was easily able to put my timing where ever I wanted it when previously my lockdown screw was at the very end of adjustment. April 8, 20204 yr Author comment_596650 Another TV series I had completely forgotten about! Clearly “It’s About Time” will be the catch phrase or slogan I’ll use in the marketing materials. Brilliant. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/63749-new-product-idea-distributor-timing-plate-re-design/?&page=6#findComment-596650 Share on other sites

Okay, I digress ... April 12, 20204 yr Author comment_596960 So today, (Happy Easter by the way!) I was googling images of Datsun 510 idler arms (don't ask....) and what should I spy with my little eye while perusing the images? https://www.californiadatsun.com/distributors-and-parts/datsun-240z-280z-510-620-e1280-electronic-distributor-timing-plate-bracket-mount.html Seems I am late to the market. Now what the $)(*$&% do I do? And of all the people to do it first..... April 12, 20204 yr comment_596961 Well they are a little different. That one is to convert from points to electronic ignition because you would otherwise have no adjustment base. Yours is an advanced timing plate. I doubt there is a patent so you should be good to go. April 14, 20204 yr comment_597118 Just a quick idea, during the CNC machining, can they grind a small "D" on the bottom? I know it's been suggested, but, the idea is to use a small bit and only penetrate part-way through the thickness of the metal. If you do it during the machining, you won't need to write or paint it on the product. Same with water jet and plasma. I’ll call around and see if any engraving places are desperate for business.
