Posted April 17, 20204 yr comment_597343 I am restoring a 71' 240 at the moment. My car has had a pretty good smack to the front end at some point in its life. To save a lot of time and effort at the body shop I am wanting to hunt down a donor car for the front end work. I have found various options that hopefully will work. I have located several 260's i can get my hands on to chop up. My question is would any of the S30's work for the body parts in this picture? I do not know if there were major differences between the years with the main shell of the cars. April 17, 20204 yr comment_597356 There are differences between my early 260z, and my late 240z at the front radiator support, the middle valance mounting tabs are different between them. There is also appears to be a difference around the end of the frame rails near the front radiator support. April 17, 20204 yr comment_597367 Been there myself.....we used a 73 front clip on the 71 car. You definitely should have a frame guy to assist. Came out perfect! April 17, 20204 yr Author comment_597375 That turned out great! If we can Frankenstein this thing half that good I’ll be pleased. I think a 260 is what I’ll have to work with. The guy sounded like his only 240 was in pretty bad shape with rust.
