1971 240z steering column switch

I have a 71 and I gutted the whole interior and took the dash out and refinished the floor with some POR and cleaned all the vents and put in A/C. After I put the dash and everything back in the turn signals dont work, and when you turn on the headlights, the left signal lights up on the dash gauge. Any thoughts on the issue? please help
