Honda Wiper Motor Question

Recommended Posts

Dave Irwin's tech article on the Honda Wiper Motor Swap/Upgrade shows a motor with three mounting bolts.  All my research on this suggests that is the rear motor as all images I can find of a front motor show a four bolt installation.  I pulled a couple of pics from Rockauto to illustrate the situation.  It looks like these motors are consistent for the '88-91 model Civics.  Can anyone confirm or clarify what I am finding?  Thanks.

I have no idea Mr Arnett but what I read says '92 and up????

The Honda Wiper Motor Upgrade Adapter Harness is $25 shipped

Using the 92' and up Honda accord wiper motor (or the 95' Civic -pre-notched shaft) in your 70' to 72' 240Z? This harness allows for the new motor to park correctly. The harness comes with the 6-pin connector that connects to the stock 6-pin connector on the firewall. It also comes with butt-connectors on the other end to connect to the Honda wiper motor wires.

Are these the bolt holes?

Cliff,

Thanks for all the good info. Dave's article stated that he used a '91 Civic motor and that is what got me started down this path. No way a Civic motor matched his pics of a 3-bolt mount. I did a bit more surfing at Rockauto and saw that the '91 Accord motor looked liked Dave's pics. Yeah - the points you circled are the bolt holes. Do you have a link for the ready-made harness you mentioned?

This is Mr Irwins page. Wiper motor info is about mid page. Good luck!  EDIT, bottom of the page.
