That center hole is not a spot weld. I suspect that was a locator feature. So you drilled out about the only part that is NOT holding it on.  Haha!!

Well, Did much better in my opinion on the second go around. @EuroDat how you saved the brackets? Kudos to you!! Just opened up one other hole. Rookie mistake! But it looks like a Z Now!!

Drilled out the first spot weld and the bracket is still attached solid. Can anyone shed some light on this before I attempt the others?
