Posted June 6, 200024 yr comment_155 I'm lacking one thing for inspection after a 2 year rebuild. Headlights! They work if I apply 12V to the fuses in the box but will not work with the switch. The parking lights and every other component work fine. Is there a relay that I,m missing somewhere. I have a factory manual and also several others but they are hard to trace with my eyesight.By the way it is a 73 4-speed Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/64-headlights-not-working/ Share on other sites
July 2, 200024 yr comment_156 I too had this problem and found the ground to the switch was bad. Ran a new wire and it works now. Did you check for voltage at the fuse with a voltmeter..you said you applied 12v to the fuse. Also the switch it self may be corroded for the headlight position. If you feel comfortable taking the stalk apart, do that and use an eraser to clean the contacts or use contact cleaner (you would still have to take the switch apart to do this). You could also turn the switch on/off many times in succession quickly...that would have a tendency to clean the contact somewhat...if the lights work at any time then that is your problem. Good luck. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/64-headlights-not-working/#findComment-156 Share on other sites
