I'd guess it was close to the beginning, because I know we exchanged notes on the listserv for a long time. 1987 was about the time I sold my 1976 280Z and bought the 1982 280ZX I had just before my current 1983 280 ZXT. You've been the glue holding the whole thing together. Mucho respect, my friend. Hi Al - Good to hear from you. Yes, its been a while and we’ve had a long journey in the Z Car Community together. Doesn’t seem possible its been 34 years! Unbelievable how this ARPANet /Internet and WorldWideWeb thing as evolved! Someone earlier referred to the Web Page or perhaps me as being a Dinosaur - LOL. I guess he got that right. I do actually think of you, Paul and Stef quite often. You and Stef were both in Grad School when we started this journey - today my Daughter is headed there. For those that don’t know “Pilgrim” aka Al - When the "Z Car List" had to move off of Princeton University’s computer systems - Al worked with a friend at Texas A&M to get us a new Home and keep us going. Popular Post Pilgrim Posted November 2, 2020 Popular Post Share #38 Posted November 2, 2020 (edited) Well, there's nothing wrong with being charter members of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Z-Car Dinosaurs. I finished that PhD and it got me out of Texas to Colorado, where things have gone very well. We have two daughters now, ages 31 and 32, and although neither has done grad school yet, I suspect the one who's a Registered Dietitian is likely to one of these days. I had forgotten about setting up the move for the Z-car group to Texas A&M, and it happened thanks to Paul's kindness. Unfortunately he passed away about 15 years ago. My general Z-car knowledge is decent on the models I have owned: 240, 280 and 280ZX. But there are many people here who have much more detailed knowledge of the systems in all of these vehicles. Folks, the reason that the Zhome website still exists is entirely Carl's effort and dedication over decades of time. My hat is always tipped to him. Carl Beck Posted November 4, 2020 Share #40 Posted November 4, 2020 Hi Guys - I think we have ZHome.com working... If everyone would give it a try - The broken links will be address a bit later - but 95% of the links in the Left Hand Frame should work with either http or https - thanks, Carl http://ZHome.com

Zed Head Posted November 4, 2020 Author Share #43 Posted November 4, 2020 (edited) My two main paths to any web site both worked fine. Google and typing in the name in the address bar then using CTRL-Enter to bring it up. You're back! Edited November 4, 2020 by Zed Head
Terrapin Z Posted November 4, 2020 Share #44 Posted November 4, 2020 At first try the HTTPS did not work, which I thought was strange. After reading everyone else was working. I tried the HTTP and that worked. I decided to clear my history, then google ZHome and use the same link I had issues with before (HTTPS) and it worked this time. Links in the right panel open in the left panel, as it had in the past for both HTTP and HTTPS. Nice job getting that fixed Carl, Thank you. Your site has valuable information for everything Z
Popular Post Carl Beck Posted November 5, 2020 Popular Post Share #45 Posted November 5, 2020 Thanks to everyone for the help. Especially to @heyitsrama and @jonbill for the detailed analysis and suggested corrective actions. I passed them on to our Sys. Admin. and he was able to implement the cure. 🙂
