I have a rear sway bar from a 78 280Z 2+2 That I want to put on my 1972 240Z, however I do not have the factory mounting brackets that seem to be found on some 72-73 240s... I have a 73 Parts car that has the brackets on it, is there a way to cut those off, and weld them on my 72? Or is there an aftermarket bracket kit that is available?

IIRC the mounts are just spot welded onto the floor pan. If you get a good spot weld cutter you should be able to remover them fairly easily. Plus you'll have a hole to weld them back on the other car already. You might find a weld on either side, but you can just take that off with a grinder.

I'm not sure if the 280 bar will work, seems to me like they are bent differently. It might work.. but I'm not 100% sure....

Sorry the sway bar will not work. I just went through the same thing only my '73 has the brackets. The sway bar that will work is from a early '74. the 280 bar is stright and will not clear the diff, the bar from the early 260 has a bend in it so it well clear. I have heard that there is an aftermarket unit that will work but havent seen one. If you weld on the 73 brackets then look for a vary early '74 . good luck
