Posted September 3, 20204 yr comment_605246 Hey guys, trying to replace my rear stock struts with KYB struts. Started to tighten down the new gland nut, but I can’t get it all the way flush with the top of the tube and these instructions are literal garbage. Should this be all the way flush? Or just tight with no play? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/64418-kyb-strut-and-gland-nut-install/ Share on other sites

September 3, 20204 yr Author comment_605257 Thanks guys! Will continue putting the rest in tomorrow. Just seems so weird that they wouldn’t just make it flush like the old gland or at least have a photo of what it’s supposed to look like at the end lol. September 3, 20204 yr comment_605277 the old glan nut was not designed to retain a cartdridge, but rather to seal a system. if it bottomed out it would not retain the cart. hang on to the old glan nut, those are hard to find if it good shape, can be used by those trying to stay OE Edited September 3, 20204 yr by Dave WM Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/64418-kyb-strut-and-gland-nut-install/#findComment-605277 Share on other sites

I bagged and labeled all of the parts from the old cartridges since they are all the originals from factory and someone mentioned those are supposed to be rebuildable (you know, in case I have unlimited spare time in the future and need some thing to keep busy ? ) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/64418-kyb-strut-and-gland-nut-install/#findComment-605367 Share on other sites
