Okay, I know I'm getting old, but I usually still do a decent job of putting parts on the right storage shelf of the different make cars I work on.  Found this on the Z shelf, which I took apart 3+ years ago, and I'm not sure if it goes on the Z or not. Looks like an interior part or something.   If so, please give me a hint so I can return it to it's original location.  If not, never mind....

It would really surprise me when that came out of any Z...  (maybe it lay in the trunk, but not a nissan/datsun part.) Aren't that in fact two peaces?  ?  Maybe a giant doorcard clip hihi...

It appears to not have any bolt holes for attaching it to a Z or any other car for that matter. I think your kid is messin' with you too. 

Okay, back to this mystery part. I think it’s the fitting that holds the hot end of the 2” pre heater flex hose that connects to the bottom of the air cleaner cover. You know, the one most people remove because it’s such a PITA. [emoji846]. So, it slides around the front part of the exhaust manifold, and the bottom end of the flex hose connects to it. Must not be a factory part though, maybe a quick fix back in the California smog days? Anyway, don’t see any other place on the exhaust manifold or shield to connect hose, and I don’t need it where I live anyway.

Would that be considered a heat riser maybe? Someone may have made it to clip on a header runner?

Hi all, I took apart my 1971 240Z 3 years ago, and even though I took lots of photos and documented almost everything,  I can't figure out where this felt pad was glued onto.  It's cross stitched so it's something special...anybody recognize it?

I don't know...

maybe on one of the (side) valves of the heaterunit in the dash? I know something like that it also on one of the main valves in the heater/cooling unit in the dashboard but it's about 4 x bigger..

Maybe the fuzzy side of Velcro that holds the particle board spare tire cover down?

It's a Velcro strip that helps hold the spare wheel cover (pressboard) in place.

Yes, I realize there are 3 velcro strips around the tub for the cover, but that black rectangular piece is what I was looking at.

I guess I DID get a picture of it inadvertently during my dismantling.  It was on the opposite side of the one on the gray car.  So, there's supposed to be 2 of them, I think.
