siteunseen Posted September 18, 2020 Share #1 Posted September 18, 2020 I have a complete MSA weather seal kit I'm about to start applying to my 240. What, if any adhesive do you guys reccomend? I'll start with the hatch then the doors. Thank you for any advice on this. I've read NONE is needed but hesitant to do that because of other threads I've read that reccomend something black in the channels. Not sure of the product though. Thanks for any advice from experienced applications.
Mark Maras Posted September 18, 2020 Share #2 Posted September 18, 2020 I prefer 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive. Available at O'Reilly.

Yarb Posted September 18, 2020 Share #4 Posted September 18, 2020 Mark, are you talking about the 8001 sealant? We used to call that “Yellow death” in the machine shop. It’s nasty.....
S30Driver Posted September 19, 2020 Share #5 Posted September 19, 2020 I think Mark may be referring to the 8008 adhesive.
Zed Head Posted September 19, 2020 Share #6 Posted September 19, 2020 I'd only do the spots that might come loose, like the corners and the ends. Maybe even use none, then lock it down later if needed. If you find that one of them is a problem you'll have to remove all of the goop that you just laid down. Mark Maras Posted September 19, 2020 Share #8 Posted September 19, 2020 Nope, not the "Yellow death". Jim is correct, it's the 8008 adhesive. Good tip on the 3M adhesive remover. I've never tried that.
