Any recommendations on the muffler? 

I bought the MSA kit, cylinder head to rear bumper. It's $590 but we get 10% off with your czcc member number. I really like it too.

Consider adding a resonator if you do.  Some do not like the drone in their system. 

dang. just called them. on the MSA, wait time in the months.... 

should the resonator go inside the 2.5" pipe or on the outer side? I would assume outer which means resonator needs be slightly bigger than 2.5? yes?

I put a magnaflow muffler and a 2.5" pipe on my 280 along with a flow thru resonator.  I'm happy with it.

Edit to say that the resonator on mine is about halfway between the muffler and the connection to the header.  Just where ever it will tuck in underneath.

My 280 needed a resonator. Installed by a local muffler shop for maybe $50. 

240 screams bloody murder like a crotch rocket motorcycle. No resonator needed on the 2.4 for me.

If you have a stock system don't throw away the head pipe, hard to find for a 280z, someone looking to revert back may be in need of one.

Was the MSA wait time for both the 3/2 and 6/1 ceramic coated headers? You ref'd the 3/2 from ZCarDepot. I did the 6/1 from MSA - MagnaFlow resonator in the tunnel and MagnaFlow muffler at the end. I then just had the exhaust place build the 2.5" rest of it. Not too aggressive for this old fart.

I don't suppose you have a recording of what it sounds like, I have the 6-1 and was considering MagnaFlow. 

Sorry, but I don't. I am quite pleased with it though. You can hear it, but it's not too loud.

I ordered one of these

the blemish (a small welded tab) does not really make a difference to me, but $100 is $100.

 

I like the way they look, should fit your 2.5" as well.

For my exhaust lines - I'll have them in January.

Headers...and my new downpipes from stock manifolds to my lines more like March.

Everyone is experiencing delays due to Covid-19 - this is the backlash from earlier in the year and companies desperate to place orders now because they don't forecast an improvement in 2021.

ps always fit a resonator - it's not just about noise levels and eliminating drone (@7tooZ is right) but engine performance - not having one might sound faster but in reality, you could be losing up to 20hp : Google 'exhaust scavenging '!
