I'm looking at getting the ANSA Twin Stack from here:  https://dpangt.com/store/ (scroll down the page about 1/3 of the way to get to this item).

Any experience?  Thoughts?  Opinions?

I already have the MSA 6-1 ceramic coated header with the 2.5" outlet.

Hi.

I had one back in 1990 and it was LOUD ! To give an idea, I changed it for an MSA Twice-pipe sstem which was more supportable especially on longish distances.

The advert seems to be confused - it talks about making them up then quote 1970s' material.....so these are parts of +40yrs old ?

Resonators Custom made to your order using NOS vintage parts and High Temp paint with a black wrinkle finish on the main body. ANSA will be made in your choice.......Note: some pipes may include slight imperfections in the chrome from original manufacturing process in the 1970's.

And they'll need specialised fitting in an exhaust shop with the pipe making between your headers and muffler (please fit a resonator in the line somewhere just after the gearbox) :

Mounting brackets will need to added by installer to set the ANSA how you like it sit on your car better than the stock factory muffler mounting tabs.

And, IMHO, rather expensive for mild steel which will begin to oxydate after fitting

$500 shipped and insured in the U.S.

As a comparison, my JDM muffler costs us$261 shipped and I currently have a Blem. unit on sale at us$190 shipped :

Lastly, I'm not impressed by the welding quality on the show model displayed in the advert and what does it weigh ? It looks heavy and for reference, my JDM weighs in at just 8.6lbs (3.9kgs).

Hard to be objective given the price vs. quality offered but I would be wary and it was just another aftermarket option back then, no dealer option.

Hi.

It's already been done by a client.

The only hurdle is to extend the 2-1 collector back to join with my line which begins with the reasonator at the rear of the gearbox. I would reccomend lengthening the twin pipes to finish as far back as possible and I will supply you, free, with an extra V-band kit so as to make a gas-tight fit or it might be possible to use one half of my new down-pipe kit (which'll be available in late March).

I'll have exhaust lines back in stock at end of January....Covid affects us all with delays at each level ; everyone talks of GNPs but I wonder if the worlds' economy hasn't shrunk since March !

Kind regards,

Sean

@Sean Dezart, that's great news and really not surprising to hear...there is rarely something that nobody has not already done.  🙂

Question based upon your post talking about the 6-2-1 header fitment...with my 6-1 header are there modifications needed?  Really wanting to understand if I will have to take it to a shop or if it will be a bolt in installation that I can do (I do not weld).

Are you taking orders now or waiting until you have the items in stock?

Thanks......and as stated, this has already been done : MSA 6-1 headers plus my line and rear muffler.😏

Is the video above the Z with the 6-1? If not, would your client be willing to send a sound clip or video? I am in the market for a new muffler. 🙂

I haven't posted any videos - that posted by  heyitsrama is of a Z with my Street-Sport header, line and JDM muffler combined.

Thanks for the heads up. If you have the contact information for the guy/lady with the MSA 6-1, would love to hear what they sound like. That's the headers I currently have. :)

Hey folks, I have a single question and didn't feel it warrants it own thread so I'm scabbing onto this one.   I've had a MSA 6-1 header on my 240 for 7 years or so.  I need to remove the tranny (ZX 5 speed) and I'm wondering if I can get it out without removing the header.  Has anyone here done that before?  Pulling the header means intake mani, carbs, new gasket etc. etc. and probably triples the amount work.  I have a lift I can use to get the car off the ground.   Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
