Manifold Switch to E41/E46 Pros v. Cons

I am debating on switching my current stock E88 intake manifold and balance tube with an E46 manifold and E41 tube on my bone stock 72. I have to admit part of me would like to get rid of the air pump and the rest of the associated plumbing and replace it with the cleaner setup that would include a set of headers.

Has anyone here made a switch like the one I’m contemplating and regretted it?
