1970 Datsun 240Z Series I - $50k (concord / pleasant hill / martinez)

I spotted this early 240Z (HLS30-02022) that has a matching numbers engine on the San Francisco Bay Craigslist. Looks to be a very solid California car. The badly faded blue carpeting is hideous, but that is an easy fix. The seller is asking $50k for the car.

I see a lot of little dents in that car and the paint especially on the hood is terrible.. but yeah a early car.. Also a lot of starting rust spots.. nothing alarming but manny starts, that, if you put this car in wind and weather it will rust very fast..  What it needs is a complete new paintjob and anti rust job..

That and white with blue interior from all I've read. So I guess blue interior makes that true.

@Bonzi Lon would know if he's still around. He had blue on blue that's in Saudia Arabia now and I'm positive he got PAID.

Yes, I think that both the '70 and '71 model year 240Zs with either 903 Universal Blue and Blue interiors, as well as the '70 and '71 model year 240Zs with 904 White and Blue interiors were the rarest, as the blue interiors were only limited to the the 904 White and the 903 Blue 240Zs. The vast majority of the '70 and '71 model year 903 Blue and 904 White 240Zs came with Black interiors.  I used to have a '71 904 White 240Z and I absolutely wish I had never sold it about 7 years ago.  Here's a few pictures of my former car: 

It was my understanding from years ago that the blue on blue WAS the rarest color combo.  Yes, I did get paid from a Saudi Sheik, in Benjamins.

I thought so.  I commented about one that was on ebay a month or two back - I think it sold for around $19k (not running).  $50k for the one above is not a bargain.  But, if you want a rare 240z, it is rare.

An F54 that is in a kit car of some sort with a automatic trans.  Maybe not abused.  Seller has video of it running.

He says it's a 280z engine but he is mistaken?  that would be a N42 engineblock or so? the F54 was the later 280ZX after 1980 engineblock? 

Wow, good price for a motor these days no matter which it is.

The title says ZX.  Probably just typo'ed when writing the text.  Has videos of it running.  Terrapin Z is probably on his way there right now...  @Terrapin Z
