In america there was the 280z and the rest of the world got the 260z's.. I don't know for the rest of the world but we overhere in the Netherlands could not GET a 280z! (only grey imports.) I wonder why. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/64671-zs-on-bat-and-other-places-collection/?&page=171#findComment-648294 Share on other sites

Because of the emissions.. a 280z (fuel injected.) is much cleaner than the 260z with carbs. The 280z was as far i know special made for the american market (?) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/64671-zs-on-bat-and-other-places-collection/?&page=171#findComment-648295 Share on other sites

All that emission crap, have you seen the clogged up cylinderheads, and when they get older ( also the diesels ) tend to smoke a lot. My work van has a DPF filter, when that thing starts regenerating the smoke and smell is worse than an old tractor ! December 16, 20222 yr Author comment_648301 It's the feedback from the O2 sensors that make the EFI systems cleaner (cleaner burning, leaner) and more fuel efficient (indirectly, overall, cleaner). Plus, the fuel trimming done by the O2 sensor controlled system allows the use of catalytic converters. Which makes the overall system even cleaner. It's just science and logic.  The early EFI systems without O2 sensors and/or converters could be just as dirty as a carb'ed engine though. So it is like saying diesel particulate filter filter.
