Z's on BAT and other places collection

Love it when these cars come up on BAT. Lots of detail photos that let you see the difference between the domestic Japanese cars and those sent to the USA. Interesting this 432 has the AC control panel fitted yet it doesn't have AC. Also the Japanese cars had the later badges on the C panels along with the vent grilles on the rear hatch. For a car that had been fully restored in Japan at some stage the underside is a bit average, even one of the retainers for the rear ARB is not fitted correctly!

You might want to put your spectacles on and take another peep. The quarter emblems on the car are the correct, early 'Z' type without vents as fitted to all solid-quarter domestic cars. They are not vented.

The car has been in the USA for the best part of ten years now. Plenty of time for that to have been addressed by the apparently much vaunted 'Collector' and 'Expert' who is selling it, don't you think?

Didn't take you long to get your nickers in a knot did it! Never said anything about vents on the c panel, just badges or emblems as you call them. The vents are on the hatch panel as I said.

LOL. I'm not wearing any knickers, darling.

Why are you talking about "later badges" then? The "later" quarter emblems were all vented (to match the vented quarters they were mounted to) so, QED. You didn't know what you were looking at, did you?

I didn't notice that until you posted it. Perhaps an aspiring owner had started to collect the pieces needed for a "factory-style" S30 A/C conversion. This panel with original stickers and the control hardware behind it are difficult to source - the seller should have considered peeling all that out and saving it for another car.  Too late now.
