This is a really nice example, very well restored from the looks of it.  Anxious to see how soft the market seems to be right now.

The z hype from previous years is over for now, market is kinda stable for a while

I have been watching news from the auctions out west.  There does appear to be a softening of the market in general.  I saw an S30 at Mecom not sell for a $20,000 high bid.  No details on the car other than the high bid.

I think it's across the whole classic car market, not just Z's.  I follow some of the older muscle cars and other sports cars like the Sunbeams.  Many are going RNM.

Pretty color but I find the interior clumsy and I think the shaved exterior makes the car look incomplete. Probably really quick though

A similar car came to an AutoX school. Accelerating out of a left hand turn his right hand door came unhinged and flew open damaging it. He did fix it and a friend said he put X bracing underneath, but he never returned.

Here's a good starter Z.  Probably get it for a good price.  Has some minor accident damage but very little rust.  Most of Washington state doesn't use salt.

@Zed Head hihi.. funny detail .. some hose clamps on the mirrors.. to keep them adjusted..  There is a screw on the inside of the foot of those mirrors to correct the stifness of the mirror.. (My 280zx has the same simple mirrors i believe.)

1975 280Z 2+2. 52,000 miles all original. It has a couple flaws in paint, nothing major, a couple dings here and there. A/C works is what I was told 

From what I can tell it seems the interior is all original, and that's what I'm being told.

I'm a 240Z man, not super familiar with originality with later models, but I was convinced it's all original.

Are you thinking it's original paint? Hard to tell from a couple pics, but it looks like a tape line on the fenders up in the engine compartment. Like they taped it and sprayed it with the hood closed? Or is that just a trick of the light?

And at quick glance, the interior isn't all original. Shift knob, center console lid, shift boot, E-brake boots. Those are all aftermarket adds.

The paint has fine checks. It looks to like it's original.

 

Thanks for heads-up on the interior. I didn't notice any tape lines.

 

It's a fantastic car.

It's really hard to gauge paint in pics like that, but it looks like there is too much orange peel, and it looks "deeper". Like base/clear instead of the original single stage. Hard to judge.

And the rear tail light panel is the wrong color. Way too light. I'm thinking they painted that panel maybe at the same time they painted the rest of the car?

Wait...  Were the 2+2 rear tail light panels a different color than the coupes?

Don't get me wrong. It's a beautiful car. I'm just curious what "all original" means these days.
