1977 280Z already at $43,000 with a day to go.  It does look good.  It's one of the "prancinghorse" guy's collection.   He got a full BAT page writeup.  Must be nice.  Probably helps.  Must be part of the collector club.

To be fair I don't know why they stopped doing it in the later export models. But they also didn't do it on the Japanese domestic market vehicles and some of the European markets. For example I've seen a French market 240z which just states engine type L24 (no specific number). I'm not sure if it was specific to markets and regulation around it?

While these ultra low mileage cars are indeed a rare find;  they will require a lot of $ before they can be considered safe and reliable. Of course, if one like prancing horse just wants bragging rights - well that's another story, no?

My comment wasn't directed at anyone specifically.  

I wonder if he had to pay for the BAT article, or if BAT is becoming like Hemmings, trying their hand at journalism.  I think that BAT started as a low level (cheap) auction site.  Now they have big money auctions.  Kind of fascinating, how businesses can blow up.  I wonder if there is a BAT echo chamber happening for the Z's and other makes.  Just a thought.  Would the big bids be happening on the other auction sites?

Anyway, good luck to mr. horse and his auctions.

Even before that it was called Bring a Trailer because they would find good deals on Craigslist that appealed to automotive enthusiasts, but like many of us could only take on so many projects so starting posting about the good/bad of what was on offer in classifieds and what was a 'good deal'. Then they added the auctions after, then it went up market from there.

I"m curious how it drives if I would have the chance. Ive seen a lot of " quickly cosmetic refurbished  "classics for $$$, but when you drive them you get that feel not everything was done correctly, imo no real car mechanic worked on it, but some backyard hobbyist.
