Here's an investment car.  Third time on BaT.  Three data points on the value chart.  $41,250 and $62,500 so far.

The presentation gets more dramatic with each listing.  Looks like it wasn't driven after the last transfer.

Just noticed that this is a 240ZGuild car, on two of the sales.  Vague memories of much discussion.  149 comments and 259 comments.  The new seller is not the buyer of the last sale unless there's been a name change.  Interesting...

The market has changed significantly since 2018 and 2020.  Since Feb of 2020 Inflation has driven consumer prices up over 21%.  That can quickly cut deeply into what anyone thought was part of their "disposable" income. Plus make anyone have second thoughts about retained or increasing values...    The "Buyers" just aren't there today...I'd be surprised to see bids on this go above $30k...  The Bubble hasn't burst yet, nor are the Classic Car Markets in Free Fall.... but there is a great deal of uncertainly.  The old saying is "don't try to catch a falling knife".

Oh, I wouldn't say free fall.  It's depressed, certainly, and I agree with Carl that the buyers just aren't there like they used to be.  I think that car, bluez, was well priced and needed a bunch of work to make it worth more.

I agree in your opinion about the market being depressed, it applies to the majority of the classic car market. The dip in prices is one of the reasons that I recently purchased number 957.

So... if the market is soft, it is a very interesting time for the "Franklin Mint" car to come back to BAT:

Same seller as the one I mentioned above.  Who is 911r?  Looks like a heavy hitter.  1,470 past listings.  Portland, Oregon.

He made a BaT podcast.  Didn't know that there was such a thing.

"This 240Z is now offered on dealer consignment in Oregon".  Some sellers hire BAT specialists.  I believe 911R is just a specialist who does the photography and perhaps handles working with the person from BAT assigned to the car.

So it allows the true seller to stay anonymous.  Makes sense now.  Seems shady.  The240ZGuild might actually be back there somewhere.

Edit - actually he's posting on the page.  Not clear if he's claimed ownership, have to read more.
