Z's on BAT and other places collection

That link was in an old thread about the BPE, in one of your posts.  It's a fairly common "dead link".  So anyone reading that thread and clicking on the link that you provided gets a "site cannot be reached" error.

So, here is what I was talking about on today's zhome, below.  If I open the zhome page I get the choices on the left and 2/3 of a page on the right.  So, how do I copy the link to the page on the right to send to anyone?  By the way, it took me a while, again, to "refind" the BPR link.

If I go to the top of the page where the url is I get this - https://www.zhome.com/

I just see a lot of hard work and good information fading away.  Do you know how many views you have on the zhome page?  I was the one that let you know there was a problem before with the https and http issue.  If you have a page view counter it will tell you if your site is actually being looked at or just sitting out there, unused

Just trying to help.  Lots of good ideas just get obsoleted and all of the information withers away.  Myspace, AOL, Wordstar...

Hi Zed Head: First let me say I appreciate the dialog and suggestions.

If you are using a Browser on a home computer - for example - you can tell it to open hyper-links in a new Tab or new Window. You can set that feature up in the Preferences and/or by using a command key while clicking on the link.  If you copy the URL displayed in that new window/tab - that would be the URL to that individual page.

If you are using an iPhone you tap and hold the link, then tell it to open in new window or tab; or if you tap the link with two fingers it should open in a new tab/window - https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/use-tabs-in-safari-iph3028ebf68/ios

Since this is a BAT related thread - user "ar1950" did not seem to have any problems Posting a URL to a single page on ZHome.com Scroll down about 5 comments here

Also if using a computer just right click on the link on the left and select 'open in new tab' then you can copy the URL from that new tab which will be a link to the specific page.

Thank you Carl for creating and continuing to maintain this site for SOOOOO many years, I know I have used it since around 2003 or so.  There's a TON of great content on it.  I will agree about the technology being dated, use of frames on websites was a big thing for a while.  For a site that is free, no donations requested, and completely run by one person it still does the trick.  I can see why work has not been put into the technology as that is time consuming and a never ending story as technology is constantly changing.  As long as frames continue to be supported by modern browsers I think it's fine the way it is.

There are other Z sites built on old technology though still contain a wealth of valuable information...Z Therapy (https://www.ztherapy.com/), Datsun 3.1 Stroker (https://www.oocities.org/inlinestroker/), and Bryan Little's Z Garage if you can still find it...just to name a few I can think of off the top of my head.  Oh wait!  I just found Bryan's newest iteration (at least the 3rd URL I've found for it, the oldest being geocities) of his site and it is much more modern than the old one (https://datsunzgarage.us/).

A good friend of mine got one of the first 1964 GTO’s in Ohio. His Mother owned part of the local Pontiac Dealership. When word of the GTO’s reached the Dealerships, the Sales Manager ordered one for him. 2dr., Post Sedan, White with a Black Vinyl top. Perhaps the best American Car I’ve ever driven. Fastest thing on the street. Five or six months after he got it - the Service Manager ordered a “Performance Package” from Royal Oak Pontiac - made it even faster.

But straight line performance wasn’t its only strong suite. It was just as much fun on long road trips, short wheel base and light weight with a stiffer than normal suspension. Very little of the usual American Car body roll. He let me drive it often over the following year - but the 65 or 66 Models came out and that time he got a 421 Catalina 2+2.

If I bought a GTO - it would have be the 1964.

Classic orange 72 with some shiny additions.  And...a visual pyrometer cold start video.  Haven't watched it but it has to be cool.  Predator.

The video of that car is pretty cool. Guy breaks out the song “staying alive” by the BeeGees with some pretty cool video which I’m not sure if it’s a drone flown by one hand or a crazy alien selfie-stick. Either way it was pretty cool. Love the car!

There's a plane at 1:10 and more after.  Seems like he's by an airfield.  You can see the selfie stick or GoPro in his shadow at the start of the video.

It seems to me that there is an imbalance in the engine.  A weak cylinder maybe.  I heard it at idle and while he was driving.  Anyone else, confirm/reject?
