Freez74 Posted January 27, 2021 Author Share #13 Posted January 27, 2021 This is what the installation looks like with hoses and fittings on the compressor. There is no interference with anything and adjustment is fairly simple.
siteunseen Posted January 27, 2021 Share #14 Posted January 27, 2021 Sorry to hijack your thread, for a second I promise. You've opened a box of ideas for me, THANK YOU! My '77 may have air this summer. @S30Driver reading Freez74's thread got me looking at ebay. Would this switch work for what you and I talked about a year or so ago? https://www.ebay.com/itm/A-C-High-Side-Pressure-Switch-Santech-Industries-MT0227/402534671196?epid=115079981&hash=item5db8efa35c%3Ag%3AXvcAAOSwWc1eYDb8&fits=Year%3A1977|Model%3A280Z|Submodel%3ABase|Engine+-+Liter_Display%3A2.8L|Make%3ADatsun|Trim%3ABase+Coupe+2-Door|Engine%3A2.8L+2753CC+l6+GAS+SOHC+Naturally+Aspirated
Freez74 Posted January 27, 2021 Author Share #15 Posted January 27, 2021 No problem, I posted this to help anyone interested in an alternative to York or factory air conditioning compressors.
siteunseen Posted January 27, 2021 Share #16 Posted January 27, 2021 I'm hoping I can get one of these to work with my factory air in my '77 that has the old R12 compressor. The 240 had that huge York system but I've gotten rid of all of it so no more air for that car but the 280 I'm hopeful now after seeing your's. Thanks again. Cliff. Freez74 Posted January 27, 2021 Author Share #17 Posted January 27, 2021 I'm sure it will work on the 77, the rest of the system will not know the difference. My car came with the huge York and under dash hanging evaporator. On your 240 the Sanden compressor would work with the aftermarket evaporator also. Now is the time for air conditioning work before it gets too hot outside to do it!

Freez74 Posted February 4, 2021 Author Share #20 Posted February 4, 2021 Nice, what kind of bracket did you use?
carcrazyken Posted February 4, 2021 Share #21 Posted February 4, 2021 If my memory serves me correctly I got the adjuster brackets from summit and welded the flat plate that mounts to the block on to the adjuster brackets. It was not that hard to do but time consuming. I made the bracket several years ago. It looks very close to yours Freez74
