Turn it over without the ignition on.. until you have oil on the cam.  (You can also take some oil out the engine and put it all over the cam.. but that's more work)

A "duh statement" but don't forget a hose pipe in the radiator with the drain valve open. Tom monroe's book.

Cody worked on the parking brake some more. We figured "while we were at it..."

So he took it all apart. He bead blasted the black parts. We didn't paint them yet because it's been so cold.

He did buff out the brake handle

Finished

Didn't get the teeth totally perfect but I think it will be ok

Used a little Boeshield to protect it

I did some polishing on Cody's headlight rings

This took about 5 minutes

I would put those rings on a old headlight! Much easy-er to work and the polish machine can't break the part so easy. 😉 (Something that often happens when polishing small parts..)

So the other day Cody came over and we reassembled his wiper mechanism

Now I just have 3 more to do...

Cody worked on the parking brake some more. We made some bushings. We took bushings and turned the outside down on sandpaper using a long sandper roll on an arbor and then we made to enlarge the ID to make them work. He also put a end on the cable

He lost one of the clevis pins. Luckily his dad is a hoarder and had a freshly plated one that I made him a deal on. 😉

 

So yesterday Cody and I started building an exhaust  for his car. We're running 2 1/2" stainless. No one really offers an exhaust for a 510 wagon

We got this much of the pipe built. I need to order a muffler now. The muffler is actually up under the back seat. It's not at the back of the car.

The plan is to tack up the exhaust and then take it to someone else to TIG it all up
