EBay Car. Factory corner car ???

This car struck me as odd since it’s nearly half the vin as mine. Mine is 36225 produced in 6/71.  This one is 18629 with a 7/71 production date. It has the early series one parts on it as well. Also has the earlier engine numbers.

Was this likely pushed to the side in the factory and then fixed and eventually sold? The production date is stamped at the factory right? I know some 70’s were titled as 71’s but that is a US issue.

It looks to me that the stamp is  a "leaning" 1 and not a 7, which is when a '71 Series I car would have been built in January of 1971.
