Crap, I only get 17MPG.... :( ... what i can do...

Recommended Posts

Well.. after 1 week of owning my first 280Z...

i am getting only 17MPG..in the city... so I started looking around for better MPG...

Currently I was running 91 octane...

will any of these help increase my MPG?

New Spark Plugs....

Check Tire Pressure...

Get a new air filter... or make custom Cool Cir Intake...

Injection Cleaner

hmm.. can't think of anything else...

will these work???

bigger engine = low fuel economy

auto = low fuel economy

From the above statement for a 260 (18-20MPG) your car is doing quite well...

From Victor:

Drive faster, harder. You'll feel much better when you get her down to 12 MPG

You got it wrong........ if you drive faster, the air will lift the car just a bit, therefore making the car lighter on the road, reducing drag from tire/road friction thus increasing the MPG. This "lighter" weight on the road will also save treadware on the tires, making them last longer and saving even more money. Sounds good doesn't it?

ROFL

Seriously, 17 in the city ain't bad... stop and go, stop and go. I'm also assuming that since the car is new you are gunning it from light to light just for the excitement :classic:

Fill the car up, get her on the freeway and run her empty, fill her up again and then check.

Both have 60L tanks, I've never been able to work out why this is!

Wouldn't have anything to do with how you drive in the 240 compared to the 2+2 would it?? :finger:
