February 1, 20214 yr comment_615364 http://www.xenonzcar.com/s30/fsm.html Page 17 in the `EF Engine Fuel` section of the factory service manual talks about how the oil-pressure sender interacts in the fuel pump system. Might be a problem with the oil-pressure sender... I assume there is oil in the system? That's like saying "My feet hurt when I stand up" without you mentioning that you're barefoot and surrounded by Legos. February 1, 20214 yr Author comment_615378 Ok well couple questions just to clarify the is the start position the one that cranks or the on before the car cranks and what other details do you need about the oil pressure senderSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/64988-280z-cranks-but-won%E2%80%99t-start/?&page=3#findComment-615378 Share on other sites

It's a flaw in the design, but useful for testing the fuel pump circuit. It should only happen when the key is On though. Turn key On, remove sender plug, pump runs. Only 1978 does this.
