Yep, it is.  Seems the problem is it takes TIME and MONEY away from doing things together, you know, like  used to do.😁

After "parking" my car for 27 years, I just want to finish it.  I am highly focused, and typically singled-minded when I have a major goal.  That works well for getting shizel done, but does have a cost with relationships.
Oh well, life is a balancing act.

Everything in life is a about balance. When we allow things in life to get out of balance negative stuff starts to happen. Whether it’s our diet, drinking, spending or any litany of things we suffer with imbalance .
Sure the hobby takes away time from relationships but we all need an outlet, we all need white space from the people in our close circles. I generally don’t work on my car when my kids or wife are home. I find time when they’re doing their things. School or work or their hobbies....the key is to know when it’s time and not time.

My woman is post menopausal, so these days it is mother thumb and her four daughters.

You need makeup on them hands, those life long working hands. Maybe some googly eyes to look back at you in shame. You'd get them eyeballs moving so fast they'd look like a hockey puck getting slapped around.

 

 

I’ve been working on my air cleaner box for a bit and finally got to paint.

I didn’t get many good before pics. This one is shortly after starting stripping.



The box was more rusty than the cover. I’m “probably” not going to go as crazy on it as I did the lid, but I tend to not be content until things look satisfactory to me.



After some primer and some sanding.








After some more primer and a couple coats of paint.





Wasn’t that pleased with it so I wet sanded it and covered it again a week later.

A little better, but I may hit it again after another block sanding in the future.







I did paint the box too and the charcoal/evap canister bracket. The box is very pitted but mostly where you can’t see it. I did fill some areas that can be seen.

Yeah, it’s the lighting or however my phone decides to pick it up.

It’s done with Duplicolor Pontiac Blue Engine Enamel DE1610. Not sure how close it really is, but I think it’s good enough. Not as dark as the dark pics and doesn’t seem as light as the light ones, ha.

Boy oh boy did I have a time with my engine block! It looked good to me but the photos I posted looked way off. If you like it that's all that matters.
