I'm not a snob about these things, as I sometimes use Autozone, but I agree that Rockauto would offer more options and quality levels of parts if you don't have NAPA around. I took them out. since I have it out, and it came with a warranty, I may see about getting a replacement, just because. The auto parts stores are all used to accepting returned reman parts. Just take it back and ask if you can look at the other units that they have in stock. You'll probably find one that looks right and they'll just swap it, no problem. Defective reman parts is normal. February 13, 20214 yr comment_616042 Once you get the replacement, I suggest you confirm the reaction disc is in there and glue it on if it is not already. I hope this all works out well for you. I think it is safe to say we have all encountered similar problems with these cars and have worked through them to fruition. February 13, 20214 yr comment_616044 Somebody on the forum used one of these depth setting tools. They're pretty simple and you get it right the first time. You could probably make your own. https://techtalk.mpbrakes.com/power-brake-booster-depth-gauge-tool Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/65048-new-booster-now-sticky-brakes/?&page=2#findComment-616044 Share on other sites

February 16, 20214 yr Author comment_616259 Well, I got a new booster, and it behaves exactly the same. 😐 Is it possible this is an adjustment issue? I can see rod lengths causing high or low pedal, but not this all-or-none action.
