You're mostly likely right here. The first carb got the fuel.

While it's running pull the plug wire caps off one at a time and see if it stumbles. Start at the rear if we think it's a carb starvation.

Will it have less fuel flow just coming from onw cup at a time from a funnel? think that is causing the  gas to get all chewed up by first carb>?? or second carb blocked?

we dont want to run gas through an old tank... but not vaccuum,,  if there is one in the fuel system..

Hook the coil up correctly. With it connected directly like you do to the battery it stays powered up all the time.

When hooked up correctly, you turn the key off it takes the power away from the ignition, and the car shuts off.

 

What happened to the the small gas can? You can put a 2 gallon can up front, run the suction hose from the pump into the jug. Easy peasy.

Slow down. Your gonna fu*k up something up if you're in a rush. Trust me, I've down the same thing.

4. how to see if clean fuel can hold in there for a bit to drive to shop?

5 can we clean the lines?

its not rusted through...

Look under your car. Is there a drain plug? If so, remove it (be prepared to catch any gas that may be in there. 

If not, siphon as much as you can and pull the tank.

You shouldn't be driving it at this point. The tank has a snakepit of hoses and I would bet big money that they all leak.
