April 13, 20213 yr comment_619714 Looks like a worn clutch or wrong throwout bearing sleeve/collar. The fork seems to be hitting the back of the bellhousing hole. I think I can even see a mark. Looks like I’m going to have to remove the transmission yet again 😞 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/65207-carb-issue/?&page=4#findComment-619717 Share on other sites
April 13, 20213 yr comment_619718 It's a very common problem. There is a multitude of pressure plate and throwout sleeve combinations. Tall, short, and in-between. The cheap clutch is probably fine, it's the combination of parts that is the problem. I’ll max it out and see if it has any affect. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/65207-carb-issue/?&page=4#findComment-619722 Share on other sites
April 13, 20213 yr comment_619723 I agree, I think it will be a collar, pressure plate height problem Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/65207-carb-issue/?&page=4#findComment-619723 Share on other sites

I think the fork is hitting the back of the hole at the end of the stroke. He might have a bit more but it doesn't look right. Should be more centered. I don’t have a helper at the moment so this is the clutch at resting Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/65207-carb-issue/?&page=4#findComment-619739 Share on other sites
April 13, 20213 yr comment_619740 If that's the clutch at rest it won't ever work properly Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/65207-carb-issue/?&page=4#findComment-619740 Share on other sites
