June 17, 20213 yr comment_623635 I use an awl, a wood screw, and vise-grips. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/65264-clutch-kit/?&page=4#findComment-623635 Share on other sites
June 17, 20213 yr comment_623636 I have used the seal tool and the screw method. I think I prefer the screw method more.I always feel like I’m going to mar something up with the seal tool, although I don’t think I have really yet. Not so much with the front edge, but the back that is being forced in and possibly the sides against whatever shaft. With a screw, I typically use a hammer with a block of wood in between and pull on the screw like removing a nail.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/65264-clutch-kit/?&page=4#findComment-623636 Share on other sites

Thanks @240260280 https://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/mtl/index.html just got my 4 quarts of redline in. Went to loose the input nut and then took out the drain plug.....there was no oil in the tranny. So here is another stupid question. If trans is separated from the engine with the fluid leak out? Should i wait until i get the 2 re-coupled before i put new trans fluid it? June 21, 20213 yr comment_623859 It's the driveshaft installed that will prevent the gear oil from leaking. Bolting it up to the motor won't matter. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/65264-clutch-kit/?&page=4#findComment-623859 Share on other sites
June 21, 20213 yr Author comment_623860 ok. thanks. i will wait until i get it all back in the car. For me it seems easier to put motor on tranny outside car and put if back in than try to align motor with tranny already installed....maybe i am not doing it properly though Edited June 21, 20213 yr by Wally Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/65264-clutch-kit/?&page=4#findComment-623860 Share on other sites
June 21, 20213 yr comment_623865 When the tranny gets tilted at a sever angle the fluid will leak out. Wait until its back in the car to fill it. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/65264-clutch-kit/?&page=4#findComment-623865 Share on other sites
