I have used the seal tool and the screw method. I think I prefer the screw method more.

I always feel like I’m going to mar something up with the seal tool, although I don’t think I have really yet. Not so much with the front edge, but the back that is being forced in and possibly the sides against whatever shaft.

With a screw, I typically use a hammer with a block of wood in between and pull on the screw like removing a nail.

just got my 4 quarts of redline in. Went to loose the input nut and then took out the drain plug.....there was no oil in the tranny. So here is another stupid question. If trans is separated from the engine with the fluid leak out? Should i wait until i get the 2 re-coupled before i put new trans fluid it?

ok. thanks. i will wait until i get it all back in the car. For me it seems easier to put motor on tranny outside car and put if back in than try to align motor with tranny already installed....maybe i am not doing it properly though
