Posted April 18, 20214 yr comment_619977 Hello all, I recently over cranked my window and heard a loud POP and stripped out the window regulator in my driver door. I'm wondering if anyone happens to have a spare for a 70-73 that I can buy. I haven't had any luck sourcing one. April 18, 20213 yr comment_619988 Can you see what made the POP? One of the rollers may have slipped out of the track. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/65289-240z-lh-window-regulator-for-driver-door/#findComment-619988 Share on other sites
April 18, 20213 yr Author comment_620002 Yep, I took it out and inspected it. The rollers were all still intact and in their guides. The popping sound is made whenever you roll the regulator all the way up to where the glass should be fully seated. When the gear on the back of the regulator makes it to the end of its travel, instead of stopping it slips off the track and the pop noise is the spring forcing it back down. I'm thinking there used to be a stop on the track but the initial loud pop I heard was perhaps the last tooth on the track snapping off. April 20, 20213 yr comment_620152 It sticks in my mind that I read a write-up of how to repair the window regulators some time ago. It may be worth searching for ways to repair what you have if you have not already done so.
