1977 280z: 80Amp Alternator

Didn't read the whole story but i would not (as an electronics guy) put an 80 amp where a 50 or 60 was the standard alternator, the cables are not made for those currents!  Better get some led-lighting (save a lot of amps)  and then use it for example for your aftermarket seat heater..  Were do you need 80 amps for in a car? your stereo?  😉   Your engine is enough music! Hahaha.. just my 2 cents..

Many people install the high amp alternators to fix low current at idle RPM.  It's overkill, in a way, but it seems to work.  If that's the reason, the loads are the same.

Normally, somebody would have asked "why?" at the start.  What's the "upgrade"?  Although, the parts store 60 amp remans are not known for their quality.  I wonder if the ZCD 80 amp is really new.
