$470 for a "new" dash is not a bad deal. Just Dashes (www.just dashes.com) quoted me about $750. How much is freight going to be to send it to Australia and back, though? What's the bottom line when all's said and done and the dash is in your car?

I was amazed to hear about that price. There is one catch, however, you must somehow transport your dash to a US office. They will ship it to Australia from that point.

I lucked out because the closest US representative is located in Vancouver, WA. It's only 2-3 hours away from my house.

I'm also planning a trip to Australia early this year (work related). I'd like to hook up with a few members in the Melbourne area and go visit these guys.

FWIW, I had my dash restored by a firm here in South Australia using the same process and it turned out really well (looks brand new!). Getting the thing back in was a pain in the rear but getting a new dash for the equivalent of US$200 aint too bad.

With the USD/AUD exchange rate, I'm hardly surprised it's cheaper to send the thing half way around the world!

Dash Original is the name of the local crowd though to be perfectly honest I'm not sure if they do the vacuum forming on-site. It may well be your contact given the prices are soooo similar.

Just out of curiosity has anyone done a 240Z dash in a color other than black to match the interior color? I'd be interested in seeing how it turns out. So far I've only seen black. I guess one problem with that is that not all of the panels in the car match the interior color, mainly the center console, the cover for the fuse box, and the strips just under the doors near the floor. I guess those could be painted but I'm not sure how it would hold up on that plastic, and getting them to match the dash and stock interior would be tough!!!

Anyway I'd love to see some pics if it's been done!

Does Dashboard Resorations work exactly match the factory shape and texture of the vinyl? Do they make a distinction between the early and late 240Z designs, or do you only get the later design, like if youordered a new dash from Nissan?
