Hi there !

My car has been repainted in bright yellow 30 years ago when my dad imported it from the US to Europe.

I'm planning to strip the car and go back to its original color, but I'm not sure if it was the 919 yellow or 112 lime green-yellow aka tennisball color.... I also know that my car is a 1971 and that 919 was stopped end of Aug 1971 and replaced by the 112 lime. 

Here are a few photos from un-repainted areas (see arches not the trunk floor)

Looking at the evap tank picture I'd say #919.

IMO, the fender wells look like the 112 lime green. The floor looks closer to 919.

Well I just found out the missing info, my Z was built in April 1971.

So if I'm correct it can only be Sunshine Yellow 919 as 112 came from 09/71.

I also think it's one of the rarest color right ?

No color code sticker on the radiator support or a door jamb ID plate the only way I know of is to search the vin registry for a number close to yours.

........and also one of my favorite colors for the 240Z. They look spectacular in sunshine yellow......really shows off a nice set of wheels and tires!

I'd lift up some vinyl around the pillar and look at that. Find someplace that hasn't been shot over the top of.

thanks, the above picture are places where it's still untouched, never painted over, but here are a 2 other shots :

the more I look at them , the more i'm confused....it looks more 112 lime than 919 sunshine....but as far as I know 112 lime only came available from 9/71 and my Z is from 4/71 ... 🤔

Here’s my original paint 112 door panel. I believe yours is Sunshine Yellow.....IMO

You could always take the door to the paint shop. Have them scan it and see which formulation the scan is closer to
