Recommended Posts

I have the key shown below.. it works to start the car but does not work in any of the locks.. did this car have 2 keys? one for ignition and one for doors, trunk? or do i need to wiggle giggle it? or will locks on work when doors closed and is there a special way to lock trunk??

Originally, it was only 1 key for ignition and door/hatch/glove box locks. However, many ignitions were worn because of the weight of the keychains, and the keys  would slide in and out. I replaced my ignition switch a long time ago, so I have two keys.

So my 74 was one key?? But it does not work on doors or hatch.  Should it?

Yes, Steve just answered that. The car originally had one key. It's 50 years old, The door locks could have been replace, the ignition could have been replaced. all the door locks might not even match. Who knows...
